Part 5 – Indoor Low Light

This is continuation of Part 4 – Inside Museums

This is typical sporting events taken with low indoor light.. usually for shooting people where the shutter speed need to be kept above 1/30th of second.

Here is the comparison information when viewed at 100% or 65% for nikon with the equivalent size.

To my surprise.. m4/3 combination performed better. Only reason I think is the Panasonic 35-100 f/2.8 @ f/3.2 lens is better than 24-120 f/4 at f/4.

Of course with Nikon 36MP, I can make larger print.. but normal size print m4/3 combination performed better.

One reason I thought 24-120 with D810 is better choice is to overcome the deficiency of 200mm zoom with the 36MP sensor. That’s not the case either..

At 100mm (200mm equivalent) m4/3 lens is better.

Conclusion

To my surprise 35-100mm f/2.8 lens easily outperformed 24-120 f/4 lens even with a smaller sensor.

My Preference : m4/3 combo, mainly due to the lens.
